Shift correction at a glance
After work begins, a planner can open the shift and select the person who covered it. The assignment that staff originally received remains on the roster.
Use the marketplace before the start time. Use Attendance when the person is correct but a punch time is wrong.
Give each type of change its own record
Select Open for correction on a started or completed shift, then choose the person who worked. Vaktos notifies the planner, scheduled person and replacement, including phone notifications. If the replacement had approved leave, the overlapping leave is interrupted.
Retain the schedule the team received
Editing a roster after the event makes an operational exception look like the original plan. That weakens the record for managers reviewing attendance and hours.
Vaktos separates the two: the roster holds the published assignment, and Shift correction records the replacement.
Choose the workflow by timing
An open shift can be offered to eligible colleagues before it begins. After the start time, the planner records the person who worked.
- Before the shift — Can’t make it and the marketplace.
- After the shift begins — Shift correction.
- For an incorrect time — Attendance and its punch history.
- For a future staffing concern — a warning on the planning board.
Important details
- A started shift cannot be reassigned by dragging it on the board.
- Shift correction identifies the worker; Attendance remains the source for punch times.
- Staffing warnings inform planners but do not automatically prevent an assignment.
Using MarRest? Punching and time review remain in MarRest. A planner can still correct who covered a started shift in Vaktos, and that assignment can synchronise with MarRest. Review the product boundaries.
Frequently asked questions
When can a shift be corrected?
A planner can correct coverage after a shift has started or ended. Staff do not edit the published roster from their phones. The roster continues to show the assignment, while the correction identifies the person who worked.
Are corrections recorded in history?
Yes. A shift has its own history, and punch edits have a separate Attendance trail. Coverage correction records who worked; Attendance records clock times.
Should future cover use Shift correction?
No. Use the marketplace for an upcoming open shift. Shift correction is for recording an exception after work has begun. Planning details such as on-call status, workplace, cost and staffing warnings remain on the roster.
